...rooted in early experiences of dance music gatherings, Max's first influences were born from forays into late acid-house, detroit-inspired intelligent techno and goa trance. His involvement in the psychedelic music scene stemmed from all-nighter concerts such as the Orb, where he found Raja Ram playing his flute in front of the stage and shared a look through his kaleidoscope, before regular sessions in the peak 90's london acid techno and trance scenes; clubbing at Club UK, partying at The Brain/Pump-house, one or two labyrinthine United Systems NYE massive squat parties, Otherworld, Samsara and all The Fridge parties, and then the legendary Tyssen Street Theatre Factory! As well as outdoor parties by Dragonfly in a straw-carpeted wood complete with saxophonist at the base of a large tree, Flying Rhino at Cripps Barn, Ahimsa, etc and ongoing international festivals. Musically, some time before being immersed in club culture, Max had a robust classical training in piano and then drums before laying up tracks on a Yamaha's internal sequencer with two lines of LCD... dj'd at house parties and happenings in London and the South-West whilst studying at art college... did a bit of analog, wading into digital, contemplating VA
