About me:

.. UPCOMING LONDON SHOW
I'm busy working on paintings for a large show at Opera Gallery London, along with my husband Colin Christian. It's so exciting to be showing in my hometown for the first time ever....open to the public on February 4th 2010 - whoo hoo!!!etc. IN THE LAND OF RETINAL DELIGHTS - THE JUXTAPOZ FACTOR, BOOK
In the Land of Retinal Delights: The Juxtapoz Factor Catalog features the work of the artists in this groundbreaking exhibition. Also included are essays by the curator Meg Linton and Museum director Bolton Colburn. Full-color, paperback, designed by Mark Murphy. Now available.

Since 1994, Juxtapoz Magazine, published in San Francisco, has provided a forum for so called Lo-Brow art-work inspired by comics, hot rods, and popular culture --and has become, in the years since, the most widely read art magazine in the United States. Juxtapoz provides a voice and validation for a brand of artist, like founder Robert Williams, Mark Ryden, Coop, Camille Rose Garcia, Glen Barr, the Clayton Brothers, Sas Christian, Isabel Samaras, Joe Coleman, and many, many others, who have not historically been accepted by the typical art-world infrastructure of collector, curator, and critic. However, since its founding, it has become the leverage point for the creation of its own infrastructure that supports Juxtapozian art with galleries around the world, collectors, increasing critical attention, and museum exhibitions at adventurous institutions. This exciting and provocative collection presents a group of artists who rejected traditional rules of the art establishment and created their own canon, known as the Juxtapoz School. Published in conjunction with the Laguna Art Museum for the 2008 exhibition In the Land of Retinal Delights.

Who I'd like to meet:

Trying to think, mmm. The trouble is when I meet people I admire I get all embarrassed and awkward. Would love to have a cup of tea with Sir David Attenborough. To sit down and listen to Werner Herzog would be incredible. Lots of artists that I look up to I've already met (lucky me!) and when I do meet them I get all nervous and just stand there mute. Which sucks. JK Rowling would be a marvelous fascinating person to be able to chat with.
RIP. Would have loved to have met Oliver Reed - he was my first crush! Tamara De Lempicka, what an amazing woman. Alfred Hitchcock would have been a laugh. And of course Cary Grant - he did LSD and went on Carson, you gotta admire his chutzpah...
