A producer of great dance records, a DJ/ performer, or a new mind set in electronic dance music? It has taken over a decade of constant work combining elements of hypnotic, tribal, techno, deep classic and progressive house to generate a concept and sound that is uniquely Roman S. You must experience his music and performances for yourself and make up your own mind what it is to you. While the talents of his peers inspire him, he has never worked towards being the next anyone. He is always challenging himself to give a new experience to the listener. Each show is distinctive; when he and audience are on the same level it has the makings of a great night. Just as unique are his productions and remixes; each track is its own show. What he feels at that specific moment, his changes in mood, thoughts, environment, mind set, life styles and emotions are captured and manifested through sound. This CD was a pure labor of love, inspired by the sound and energy of music and dancing on a recent night in New York, a manifestation of that club experience. My goal was to convey the atmosphere and feeling of NY clubbing back then and what NY sound has become. I kept my “signature” beats, bass lines and hypnotic grooves as relentless as possible. Selecting the tracks for this album turned out to be an undertaking. The mix turned out to be deeper and melodic, yet raw and drum orientated. I had to choose from about 150 various bits and pieces of very personal compositions. Each track is a window into my emotional and mental state at a particular time, both highs and lows, crafted into one continuous 70 minute show; From very light and seemingly happy “ Love will break the spell” to raunchy “Britney”, from dark and driving raw feel of “Estrella” to chunky big room sounds of “Purgatory” After three unsuccessful takes I was tired and frustrated, but my obsessive nature kept me coming back. I kept fixing the sequence, changing the details and playing around with effects and sound arrangements. Finally I was happy with the flow, direction an d sound selection.
