    Dear friends,
We are very excited to share with you the latest MAETAR news.
Since October of 08 Hagai and I have been playing with one of the true living legend of music - the amazing drummer James Gadson with whom we struck a deep musical friendship and the deepest pocket and groove you have ever experienced from us. Our music has gone into new heights of creativity, communication and funk. We are happy to invite you to share in this experience with us as we usher spring in, with a couple upcoming concerts around town.

MAETAR was invited to perform at "WE THE PEOPLE FESTIVAL" on September 27th, down town Los Angels. Watching the political conventions, it got me thinking about he role we play as artists in shaping the direction society travels. Listening to the speeches, some inspiring and uplifting, some hateful and ignorant, I am reminded of how the personal choices we each make affects our life and the life of our family, friends and those who experience our art.
Some elected leaders love power so much, they neglect to remember the awesome responsiblity
our vote placed in their hands. We need to remind them of that responsibility.
Similar responsibility is shared by each and every person, in our daily life: to do what we say and say what we do, to treat others with dignity and respect the way you want to be treated.
MAETAR playing at this festival in front of 20,000 people marks an important land mark for us. It is the largest gig we ever played. With that we have an opportunity to speak with our music and affect the change we seek in the social, spiritual, political and economic life of this country and the world.

See you Saturday September 27th, 7PM
California state historic park Los Angeles 1245 North Spring Street Los Angeles, CA 90012
