Maetar is brothers Itai and Hagai. We are inspired by the vision that through music and art we as individuals and as a whole can achieve higher levels of awareness and compassion. We are influenced by every piece of information that passes our senses. We love rhythm, groove, space, creativity and communication. If you need definitions then- “Jazz-Funk-World-Mid-East-Classical-Free-Rock-Other” is a start. We love to invent and innovate as we use our instruments as divining rods to the wells of the ineffable. We are very excited about our current project - collaboration with one of the true living legends of music – the incredible drummer James Gadson (Bill Withers, Marvin Gaye, Paul McCartney, Beck, D’Angello, to name a few). We are working on a new show, CD and DVD and can’t wait to share the gift and joy of this amazing music with you.

    Hi Maetar!

In Honor of Charles "Bird" Parker.

TODAY'S THOUGHT IS ABOUT MUSIC ...

"MUSIC is your own experience, YOUR THOUGHTS, YOUR WISDOM.

If you don’t LIVE IT, IT WON'T COME OUT OF YOUR HORN.

They teach you there’s a boundary line to music. But, man, THERE'S NO BOUNDARY LINE TO ART."

    ~ Charles "Bird" Parker

Charles "Bird" Parker is hailed as the greatest alto saxophonist of his time.  He played brilliantly, but his addictions to drugs and alcohol ultimately led to his untimely death.  Parker died of the combination of a heart attack, a bleeding ulcer, and pneumonia.  The coroner who recovered his body reported the death of a 50 to 60 year old man.  Charlie Parker was only 34 years of age.

With LOVE, RESPECT, and PEACE my friend,

    Richard
