  • Bio

.... .. .. .. .. .. .................... Born and raised in Mansfield New Jersey, Levi Schmidt has always been a child of rhythm. He began his musical career as a drummer, playing with local bands throughout his childhood. Schmidt picked up the guitar during his high school years and slowly made the transition from percussionist to songwriter. After moving to Boston to study at MIT in 2006, Schmidt sharpened his vocal skills as a member of MIT Resonance a cappella group, and fell in love with rhythm all over again as a member of Rambax MIT Senegalese Drum Ensemble. He also studied music theory, receiving a minor in MIT's inspiring music program, and growing tremendously as a musician. Finally, in early 2009, Schmidt fell back into songwriting and quickly came up through Boston's live music scene. Since releasing his first studio album 'Like Water' with Birch Beer Records, Levi Schmidt has toured around the US and Canada, making friends and fans with his unique style and poignant message, at prestigious venues like Cambridge's Club Passim, Momo's (Austin, TX), The Basement (Nashville, TN), Arlene's Grocery (NYC) and more! Your tears evoke a taste as memorable as honey. May you always have stables of horses to service your needs. How it passes there and back again like a tear drop glistening in moonlight. The elves that play in the toasters wash their drum sticks in honey and sing strikingly colored anthems in perfect harmonious pleasure. What wonderful vibrations you are capable of. Your beauty is multiplexed in contemplation of your multidimensional effervescence. How beautiful is the snowshine in your eyes, so directly current from the static in your mind.

What's goin' on Levi Schmidt? A starfish's lifelong hallucinations of gelatin pools and of actuaries floating upon the foam and reciprocal ohm. Panoramic aromavision is the future. Please let me hear more of that wonderful sound. The sand runes crossing your divided consciousness do speak of contemptuous monsters being slayed by flying phoenixes. I sense wild vapors of sweet champagne in your larynx. All my thoughts are lost to your graceful gaze? The stickers hugging the fruit smell better than the perfume of ambergris. I relentlessly desire cotton candy lollipops. Your hair sends forth a sheen remniscent of golden sunlight winding through shadows. Your eyes are like spheres of crystal water filled with shimmering dreams. Your essence is equal to the beauty of a galaxy. Your reflections bring happiness that rends naked glass. Your beauty is equal to the smoothness of a polished gem. Cities crumble, skies ignite spontaneously in your presence. Transistors bridge where your vanity would never go.
