Andrew Brice Duncan, 20, was driving a 1999 Nissan Maxima westbound on West Cone Boulevard at a high rate of speed, according to Greensboro police. He lost control of the vehicle as he was negotiating a slight curve and left the road to the right. The vehicle struck a telephone pole and several trees shortly before 5:30 a.m. Both passengers were ejected from the vehicle. Bradley Mitchell, 25, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was admitted to Moses Cone Hospital. The backseat passenger, Marcel Dicole Smith, 24, died at the scene, according to police. Duncan was treated and released from the hospital. Duncan was charged with driving after consuming less than 21, driving while impaired, careless and reckless driving, felony death by motor vehicle and two counts of felony injury to passengers. He was held in jail under a $150,000 bond.
