Hailing from a family of musical genes, it comes as no surprise that Compton’s ‘Female Don’ began to pursue an interest in music. At the tender age of 8 years old, Bossalena aka Ms Pain was already studying the technology of musical equipment from her Father who was a DJ. Who would have guessed that plugging in headphones, adjusting the volumes and EQ levels would lead to Bossalena graduating a college music program just years on?

Having inspirations from the likes of MC Lyte, Lauren Hill, Boss, Gangsta Boo, Lady of rage, and Medusa, Bossalena began to write rhymes and took on a professional approach to developing her craft in 1996. While perfecting her technique ‘Phel-Hypnotic’ were formed in 1997 which consisted of long-time friends Syntek aka Qwik Draw, Raven aka Dark Shadow and Bossalena herself under the stage name of Tranzers aka 1 Assissin.

‘Phel-Hypnotic’ were a collective of individual talents that complimented each others musical craft. During the 4 years together they released a self titled EP which was produced by Cali Slim, then just before the girls departed they released ‘Attack From The Blindside’ in 1999. Although ‘Phel-Hypnotic’ had a positive connection, it was time for Bossalena to create an impact to the music scene on her own and in 2001 she began to pursue a solo route.

Bossalena started a music program in production, recording, mixing and mastering in 2005, during this time she’s recorded and successfully promoted projects such as "Street Sampler" (ep) ‘Verbal Diamond’s V.1 , ‘Female Don V.1’ and ‘Straight 2 The League ’ and more to come. This female don is not only raising a musical profile as an artist, but also as a businesswoman. The empire includes working as co-executive at ‘Bossed Out Records’ alongside Cali Slim (CEO), and Green Greedy Family’, with brother Cali-Slim (Austin) and P Hustle (The Beast).

In 2007 Bossalena won 2nd place at the Mixtape Battle in Long Beach with the ‘Female Don V1’ and "Female Don V.2" collection on freestyles. Having been the only female MC out of 20 entries, Bossalena was voted L.A’s Rap Queen Of 2007 in the L.A Weekly. With a string of forthcoming releases set for independent distribution globally, Bossalena has already introduced a prosperous musical venture before she’s even started.
