BioGenesis

"BIOGENESIS" was originaly formed by it's front man Chaz Bond in 1996. In 1997 Chaz recorded a Demo featuring himself on vocals, guitar and bass under the name BIOGENESIS. This project was called "TUNNEL VISION" and was used to shop his vision of a unique and diversified Metal band to musicians. During a period of trial and error, several names would come and go, however one would help to shape the sound and image of the band forever. That name is none other than long time guitarist James Riggs. With his seemingly endless abillity to create rythms ranging from one side of the Metal world to the other James proved to be just just what the band needed to carry out it's vision.


With the core now fully intact a real lineup was eventually formed. In 2000 the band singed a recording contract with Australia's "ROWE PRODUCTIONS". In 2001 the band unleashed its only album "THE MARK BLEEDS THROUGH" to the Metal world. Following some underground success and a tour with Australian label mates "MORTIFICATION" the band began to work on its sophmore album that was to be titled "PEACE, LOVE AND HYPOCRISY".


In 2003 they began working with "DELIVERANCE" front man Jimmy P. Brown as producer and the band released the single "FALL BACK" on a compilation disc. During this time however they began to fall on difficult times as a revolving door of lineup changes began to pleague the band. Then in 2004 Chaz Bond accepted an offer to replace vocalist David Taylor and joined "METAL BLADE RECORDS" power Metal entity known as "JACOBS DREAM." Joining however, with the intention of remaining a member of both bands. A year later "JACOBS DREAM's" third album "DRAMA OF THE AGES" was released with Chaz as the new front man.


While waiting to record the sophmore album "BIOGENESIS" began a head start on the writing of it's third album that was to be known as "HUMAN PARADOX". Finally in 2005 however a falling out took place within the band. With the foundation gone Chaz decided to disolve the band. In 2006 Chaz began the formation of another project and chose the title "HUMAN PARADOX" as the name of the band. (www.myspace.com/humanparadox )


Today however, in the summer of 2009 BIOGENESIS HAD BEEN REVIVED!! Chaz Bond and long time guitarist James Riggs had suddenly reunited and signed a new Record deal with Iowa based "RETROACTIVE RECORDS". The band is now preparing to record a long awaited sophmore album that will likely be called "POINT OF ORIGIN". In addition to the new release RETROACTIVE RECORDS will also re-release a newly re-mastered version of the first album THE MARK BLEEDS THROUGH with added bonus tracks!


During the process of preparing for the new Reunion album BIOGENESIS suddenly reunited with it's original lineup. With the return of Bassist Randy Walton and Drummer Nevin Cline (both of whom performed on THE MARK BLEEDS THROUGH)The band finally entered the studio for the fist time since 2004 for the recording of the new album "POINT OF ORIGIN". Fans can likely expect an early 2010 release date!
